On 7 November, specialists talked to visitors at the Russian Geographical Society’s festival about the Amur tiger’s habitats, the present state of the tiger population, and the role of zoos in preserving this Red Data Book animal. The Moscow Zoo’s leading zoologist, Anna Glukhova, and the director of the Primorye branch of the Amur Tiger Centre, Sergei Aramilev, presented reports at the Central House of Artist’ conference hall.
The Amur Tiger’s Hour presentation, that included quizzes and team games for children, took place on the festival’s central site. Winners were awarded books entitled Little Amur, or a Tiger Cub’s Adventures by children’s author Sergei Georgiyev. Young visitors could also join workshops dedicated to the Amur tiger, paint an Amur tiger on a huge digital screen, and print out their paintings.
