A camera trap in a border area of Sailyugem National Park has spotted a female snow leopard with her three cubs again. The pictures were taken during their nighttime walk on the same stretch of Yuzhno-Chuisky Ridge where they were first photographed in November 2017.
Scientists note that the snow leopard cubs – Sai, Luke and Gema (the names were chosen in a contest) – have grown noticeably bigger and stronger. They are now about a year old. As a rule, snow leopards take care of their offspring until the age of two; after that, the cubs leave home and settle in their own areas.
