A female snow leopard and her three cubs, images of which were captured by camera traps in a border area of Sailyugem National Park, have recently received nicknames. Their names were chosen in a contest, which was organised by the national park once the snow leopards were recorded at Yuzhno-Chuisky Ridge in the Republic of Altai.
The participants of the contest submitted about 80 applications that suggested 300 different nicknames. Following a vote on the national park’s social networks, the female snow leopard was named Belukha (white whale), while the three cubs were called Sai, Luke and Gema.
