The results of the fifth year of the Camera Trap 2019 contest in the Felidae category have been announced. According to the Amur Tiger Center, which is the project’s partner, the winners are: Bikin National Park, Zapovednoye Priamurye Federal State-Financed Institution, Land of the Leopard National Park, Bastak Nature Reserve and Sayano-Shushenski Nature Reserve.
“The Camera Trap national contest is the first contest in the world for images and videos produced by camera traps in the wild. The purpose is to show the capabilities of modern technology and encourage its application in the observation, exploration and protection of the environment,” reports the center.
The 5th Camera Trap national contest was held from 9 September to 25 December 2019. The images were evaluated by an expert panel that included representatives of the contest organizer and partners as well as invited experts. A website vote was also considered.
The winners in the Video category include: “Tomcat,” Bikin National Park; and “Cinderella Five and a Half Years After,” Bastak Nature Reserve.
The Video Clip subcategory winner was Land of the Leopard National Park with “Four Tiger Cubs in Land of the Leopard” film.
Zapovednoye Priamurye and the Land of the Leopard won in the Photo category.
