Camera Trap 2018 contest kicks off

Camera Trap 2018 contest kicks off

6 June 2018

The fourth season of the Camera Trap contest began on Ecologists’ Day, 5 June. The project is aimed at demonstrating the abilities of modern technologies and promoting their use in monitoring, studying and protecting the environment. Photos and videos taken by camera traps in the wild can enter the contest.

The contest offers 11 categories for Russian protected areas and eight for hunting farms and environmental organisations. The Amur Tiger Centre has been the official partner of the Cats category since 2015.

The contest results will be summed up in December 2018. Voting for the best works can be done at the project’s official website. Winners will be awarded in January 2019 during the Russia’s Primeval Nature festival.

Over the last three years, more than 400 participants from all of Russia and over 4,700 photos and videos have taken part in the contest.
