Land of the Leopard trail camera spots seven animal species

Researchers at Land of the Leopard National Park have obtained footage of seven rare animal species recorded by a camera trap. The video features two Amur tiger cubs with their mother, a herd of sika deer, a golden eagle, a black vulture, yellow-throated martens, a group of crows and the Far Eastern leopard Valera.

Specialists consider the spot to be very comfortable and safe for the animals. “Recording so many animals in a short time is a rare occasion. We managed to find a good place where the animals repeatedly leave their marks. The quality of recording allows us to even hear and see tiger’s breath. It is a special place. It has a good view of the valley, which is convenient for predators. Also, the southern slope where the camera is installed gets very warm and there is less snow. Under the site there is a small cave, which makes a good den,” said Viktor Storozhuk, an engineer and researcher at the national park.
