On 20-23 December 2017, the winter route wildlife count was held at the Bastak Nature Reserve, which included checking the trail cameras. Several images showed Vostok the tiger, one of the cubs of Zolushka and Zavetny. He was born in late August-early September 2015.

Vostok was captured by a camera trap for the first time on 2 December 2015 at the age of 3-3.5 months in the middle reaches of the Bastak River. The next image of the tiger was received on 17 December 2016 at the head of the Pravy Bastak River. Then the tiger was not seen for a year, and prior to the last count experts thought he had left the area.
