EEF charity auction raises over two mln roubles to protect rare animals

8 September 2017

The 3rd Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) hosted a charity auction in the Far East. It brought in over two million roubles for projects to protect Amur tigers, Far Eastern leopards and other rare animals.

A tour to one of Russia’s nature reserves with Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergei Donskoi became the most popular lot of the auction. Other lots – works of art, handicrafts, objects from specially protected areas, items signed by celebrities and exclusive tours – were put up for auction by politicians from the Far East, non-commercial organisations and famous Russian culture, art and sports figures.

This social and cultural project was held for the third time. All the money raised by the charity auction will go towards programmes for Far East biodiversity conservation.
