Charity auction for the Amur tiger held at the Eastern Economic Forum

7 September 2015

A charity auction in support of projects to protect the rare and endangered animal species of the Far East has been held at the Eastern Economic Forum at the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The auction raised funds for the protection of the rare animal species of the Far East, in particular the Amur tiger and the Far Eastern leopard.

The Amur Tiger Centre provided three lots: an axe knife called On a Taiga Trail, a miniature copy of a monument to the Amur tiger in Vladivostok, and a Rhinoceros jack-knife.

American actor Steven Seagal bought the collectible Damascus steel axe knife with a drawing of the Amur tiger on it.

The auction proceeds will be used to finance projects to protect the Amur tiger.
