Over 50 scientists from Russia, South Korea and Japan have met in Vladivostok to discuss the Amur tiger population and dispersal areas at an international conference on wildlife dispersal areas, seasonal migration and other movements.
The experts will discuss the dispersal of animals, bird and mammal migration, animal ecology, as well as the use of research projects for wildlife conservation.
One of the issues on the agenda is the conservation of the Amur tiger and its localised movement relative to the protected area borders.
The 25-27 November conference was organised by the Pacific Geographical Institute and the Institute of Biology and Soil Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Far Eastern Branch, the Amur Tiger autonomous NGO and other nature conservation organisations.
