The Moscow Central House of Artists hosted the festival of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) for the first time from 31 October to 6 November. The Amur Tiger Centre took part in this event.
The centre showed displays describing its efforts to study the Amur tiger with a view to preserving its population and habitat. It presented unique photos of the wild cats, which are listed in the Red Book, including rare pictures of them in the wild.
The centre presented children who attended the festival with copies of the new illustrated book by Sergei Georgiyev, “The Adventures of the Little Amur Tiger.” The centre plans to continue the amusing story about the tiger cub and his friends from the forest.
Children and adults had an opportunity to see the new hero of the popular TV programme “Good Night, Kids” – the tiger cub Mur – and watch the socially-oriented cartoons, Change Yours and Tigers' Lives, and Tiger Hunter, which were made by young cartoonists from the Ocean National Children’s Centre.
The festival brought together experts in geography and allied sciences, enthusiasts and travellers, environmentalists and all those who care about nature and its preservation.
