The Primorye Territory Department for Hunting Supervision has conducted a number of field meetings on registering and preserving game animals. The department's representatives informed hunters about requirements for tracking winter routes of game animals on the territory of hunting farms, new regulations and planned changes in hunting supervision.
The department's Deputy Director Alexei Surovy emphasised: "It is important to count hunting animals. Based on these results, we determine the limits and quotas for hunting during the 2015-2016 season."
He said the adopted regulations on hunting supervision will help hunting organisations upgrade their hunting services.
Surovy also noted that amendments have been made to the Administrative Code. He said that now the Code provides for punishment for those who do not abide by the legal requirements of hunting inspectors.
Cooperation with the non-profit Amur Tiger Centre on preserving tigers, their food reserve and habitat has become a separate topic.
Director of the centre's Primorye Branch Sergei Aramilev said: "Our goal is to reach harmony in relations between tiger and man. The security of this harmony lies in the large population of hoofed animals. We're pleased to say that the majority of hunting organisations are interested in preserving animals no less than the Department for Hunting Supervision. They want to cooperate."
