The next International Forum on Tiger Conservation may be held in December 2011, said World Wide Fund for Nature Russia director Igor Chestin.
He said a meeting to discuss the financial implications was scheduled for July 2011, that it would be followed by dialogue between the governments of the tiger range countries and between financial donors, and that a sustained-funding mechanism would also be worked out.
Chestin made this statement, while addressing the final meeting of the current International Forum on Tiger Conservation in St Petersburg. The host country for the next forum has not been selected.
