Results of My Snow Leopard festival to be announced in Shushenskoye

Several events will be held in Shushenskoye on Children’s Day, which is marked on 1 June in Russia. The programme includes a concert and an exhibition of works submitted to the My Snow Leopard international media wildlife festival. A wild cat dance by a snow leopard, a lynx and a Pallas’s cat, which anyone can join, will add diversity to the events.

 

The final events of the My Snow Leopard festival are traditionally held on 1-5 June. This year, the results of the contest will be announced on 1 June. On the festival’s programme are a cut-out board with a photo of a snow leopard and face painting experts. Besides, the research staff of the Sayano-Shushensky Biosphere Reserve will tell audiences about the region’s rare wild cats and conservation programmes and show how trail cameras work. An exhibition titled Russia’s Living Symbols will feature a snow leopard.

 

The My Snow Leopard international media wildlife festival was first held in 2013 by the Sayano-Shushensky and Khakassky nature reserves with support from the Russian Geographical Society. Over 10,000 people from Russia, China, Germany, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, France and the United States of America attended the festival in the subsequent years.
