A polar bear with a condensed milk tin stuck in its mouth has been rescued in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Svetlana Radionova, head of Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources), reported via her Telegram channel.
Seeking help from people, the polar bear went straight to the village of Dikson to the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In the evening on July 20, the chief veterinarian at the Moscow Zoo flew to Krasnoyarsk.
The polar bear, which was spotted three kilometres from the Dikson airport, was sedated, and the tin was removed from its mouth. Some minor cuts on its tongue were promptly treated. It turned out to be a very young female polar bear weighing 80 to 90 kilograms.
According to Radionova, the polar bear will be transported to its natural habitat at a distance of 60 to 100 kilometres from the village.
