A long-awaited event happened at the Orto-Doydu Zoo in Yakutsk. The four-month-old bear cub born to Kolymana, who was rescued on Medvezhyi Islands in April 2012 during an expedition to explore polar bear maternity dens, made its first public appearance. The news was announced by head of the expedition Viktor Nikiforov.
The bear cub’s debut drew a huge crowd. Over the previous weekend, over 7,000 people visited the zoo.
The cub’s gender is still unknown. Both baby and mother feel great. They play and spend a lot of time together.
