Complex expedition begins at Sayano-Shushensky Biosphere Reserve

16 April 2020

Patrolling of several river valleys in the biosphere reserve is scheduled to take place as part of the expedition that began in the second half of April. In total, nearly 100 km of mountainous terrain will be explored.

The members of the expedition will also check some camera traps to get up-to-date information on possible breaches of the reserve’s borders. In addition to identifying and preventing cases of poaching, they will carry out phenological observations and animal counts.
