President of Russia Vladimir Putin visited the Sayano-Shushensky Nature Reserve.
The president was accompanied by Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Sayano-Shushensky Nature Reserve Gennady Kiselyov and Head of the Tyva Republic Sholban Kara-ool.
The president went to the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory as part of his trip around Siberian cities and spent several days in the Sayano-Shushensky Nature Reserve located in the remote district of Western Sayan at the border between Tyva and Khakassia.
In addition to widespread animal species such as the Siberian ibex, the reserve is home to rare species such as reindeer, Pallas’s cats and snow leopards.
