Participants of the International Forum on Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Conservation, which took place on 25 August in Bishkek, adopted a final declaration and a concept of the regional adaptation conservation project.
This declaration will help to improve the snow leopard conservation management system and promote a humane attitude to the wild cat in its habitat. The first Bishkek declaration was adopted in October 2013, also at a snow leopard conservation forum, and became the foundation for legislation on rare animal protection in general.
In 2017, heads and representatives of nature conservation organisations from the 12 snow leopard range countries participated in the forum. The Russian Federation was represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
