The book, The Snow Leopard: Tracking the Mysterious Animal has been included on the shortlist for the Crystal Compass Award in the Publication nomination. The photo album, The Snow Leopard: Tracking the Mysterious Animal, was presented in February 2013 during the Golden Turtle festival of wildlife. The book was published in the traditional and multimedia format. It includes unique photographs of snow leopards taken by trail cameras in southern Siberia, and detailed background information about the Tracking the Snow Leopard and Wild Cats of Southern Siberia projects.

The Crystal Compass Award has nine main nominations. The shortlist of finalists includes projects from fifteen Russian regions with the highest preliminary result possible. Winners of the first national award in geography, environment, preservation and promotion of Russia’s natural, and historical and cultural heritage will be chosen from the shortlist on May 25, 2013.
