President Vladimir Putin has taken a tour of an oceanarium that is under construction on Russky Island in Vladivostok. He was accompanied by Primorye Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky, Vice-Premier of the State Council of China Wang Yang, members of the Chinese delegation and American film actor Steven Seagal.

The President was shown aquariums filled with water and themed tunnels equipped with interactive screens and was told about the oceanarium’s unique research and educational capabilities.

The project is proceeding on schedule, with the construction, assembly and   finishing work to be completed in September, after which experts will create the habitat for the oceanarium’s future residents.

The Primorye Oceanarium Research and Educational Centre on Russky Island will be the largest of its kind in the world. It will also have a research and adaptation facility of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
