A trailer has been released for Talking with Beluga Whales, an educational documentary about one of the planet’s most intelligent animals.

The film, created with grant support from the Russian Geographical Society, is being shot by a crew led by renowned biologist and TV presenter Ivan Zatevakhin.

According to the project's producer Sergei Serebryany, the documentary focuses on a recent discovery by a group of Russian researchers led by Vsevolod Belkovich, a renowned professor and the founder of the Russian academic school for studying dolphins in the wild. The researchers found that beluga whales possess a high level of intelligence.

Work on the 60-minute film from the series Extreme Biology will be completed in mid-December.
