Unique footage has been captured of a Far Eastern leopard catching a deer in Land of the Leopard National Park. In the video, the predator leaves its stone grotto several times, responding to the sounds of wildlife and surveying the territory, and then returns back to the food again. The video was recorded by a camera trap installed by members of the tourism department during an expedition to find new tour destinations in the national park.
The scientists were able to identify the leopardess by her individual pattern of spots – the young leopardess Leo 117F. She was first recorded at Land of the Leopard in 2017 and has rarely been seen on camera traps since then. She looks quite healthy in the new video, and she should not be having any problems with food. According to experts, Leo 117F is now about four years old.
