Land of the Leopard National Park has recently announced a new contest to choose a name for the young leopardess Leo 61F, which will be held on the national park’s social media pages. Any follower can suggest their own name down in the comments on the post about this spotted cat. This event will mark the sixth anniversary of the national park.
Anyone who follows one of Land of the Leopard’s social network accounts is eligible to participate. During the next stage of the contest, organisers will select the five most popular names for followers to vote on.
Leo 61F is a young Far Eastern leopardess living in the southern part of Land of the Leopard National Park. She was first spotted by camera traps back in 2015.
Land of the Leopard National Park was founded on 5 April 2012 by a resolution of the Russian government. About 70 percent of the rare spotted cat’s home is under the protection of the national park.
