Far Eastern leopard decorates Rossiya aircraft

28 February 2017

The Rossiya Airlines now has a Boeing 777-300 aircraft with a unique design: it sports the face of the Far Eastern leopard on its nose. The spotted predator jet has been named Ussuriysk after a city in the Russian Far East. The project is being implemented by the Far Eastern Leopards autonomous non-profit organisation.

The decision to add the unusually decorated plane to the airline’s fleet is intended to promote the environmental initiatives of Russia’s Year of the Environment. The leopard nose art is a fun and compelling way of attracting public opinion to rare animal conservation. The newly decorated aircraft will fly along the most popular routes to the Far Eastern cities and to popular resorts both inside and outside Russia.

The leo-craft, as Rossiya employees have nicknamed it, will make its first flight to Vladivostok. Young passengers onboard the spotted jet will be presented with memorable souvenirs – soft toys and mugs.
